I was trained at the Los Angeles Art Center, College of Design. I can paint but prefer to draw. In 1984 I bought my first computer and I still hate it. I use it because it makes the job so much easier as far as processing and conveyance. But as a drawing platform it is slow and somewhat like drawing with boxing gloves on. We use digital pads now so it is much better but for concept sketches the old hand, pen and paper can not be improved upon.
The "Watchman" would sit on the gate of the city and was the lookout for enemies. Oil on board.
Jimmy Durante was a comedian and entertainer back when I was a kid. I decided to use him as a subject. Pen and colored ink.
"Old Number Seven" is not any particular car just a culmination of the racers from the 20s and 30s. I have always loved the time period from about 1910 to about 1940. Interesting people, fashion and design. Acrylic on masonite.
